Riding into Sag stop
As one famous singer once said "What a difference a day makes". Yesterday could not have been better. Today we woke up to wind, overcast skies, and a prediction of thunderstorms. So we packed our rain gear, made our peanut butter sandwiches and took off to ride as long as Mother Nature would allow.
It took a few miles to get our knees oiled after the hard work they did yesterday but once we got going all was well. Of the 20 riders in our group only 6 of us finished the 78 miles and 3 of them were the WOWs! Bev, Bettye, and DQ were tough today. Bettye did have a slight set back as she has the honor of having the first flat! I did not take many pictures today as most people aren't interested in pics of corn growing, soy beans growing, grass blowing, mud puddles, and silo after silo. All in all it was a pretty boring day. The roads were so straight I could see the stop sign 8 miles away! Not too many cars just farm machinery that takes up 3/4 of the road and can give us quite a scare!
Lucky for us it never rained and by mid afternoon the winds eased up. It was still a long day and we were glad to be in Streator, Il.
Tomorrow is another long day so good night-I need my beauty rest.
