Blue Skies and Tailwinds, June 3

Here we are- the WOWs looking fresh and ready to go. We did not look like this at the end of our 86 mile day!
We had a glorious morning- riding east into the rising sun with cool temps and a slight breeze.
Going past the houses in Streator with sport flags made me think of how the flags have changed as we go from state to state. When we started-Minnesota Vikings,Twins, then the Packers, now the Cubs, and the Bears. No Giants or 49ers yet! The route took us through small( they're all small!) towns , again with no one in them. Where are the people? We pedaled through wind farms. Farmhouses were surrounded by windmills so of course the wind picked up as we went on. The temps also picked up. It sent many riders into the sag. A few "bumped up"-were sagged ahead- and the rest got picked up along the way. Only 3 people did the whole ride.
We have had 3 long days in a row and tomorrow is a longer one. We will land in Logansport, Indiana and will also lose an hour into Eastern time. We then have a lay over day. YAY! I will do my laundry, maybe play golf, and rest my weary knees.

PS: I was one of the finishers!
