Blue Skies and Tailwinds

Hi everybody, I am in Cleveland, Ohio after riding 55 miles-23 of them in pouring rain. We were not prepared for the weather- it was supposed to come later in the day- so no rain jacket, no flashing lights, no cold weather gloves. Our bad!!
We took this picture early in the ride. It says it all!! Our average age on this trip is 62. Oldest is 72 and she rides our butts off!
This is the halfway point of our ride. I have logged 1396 miles and we are into our 22nd day.
Sadly we said good-by to four riders and we met the 7 new ones. The WOWs hosted a cocktail party before the final dinner to celebrate. It was a lot of fun and a lot of biking adventures were shared.
Today was the hardest day for me. Besides being cold I couldn't see with my glasses rain spotted so I couldn't read the map. You couldn't see the pot holes because they were filled with water and the roads were in terrible condition! Cars were not nice and we hit a detour because of road construction and had to walk our bikes for a while. We missed a few turns in the city trying to read a very detailed map which by now was water logged. We finally reached our destination- the Doubletree and who was there to greet us to take our picture? Our other WOW- Bev! She had arrived last night and was waiting for us.
After a final dinner, a good night drink and a some sad good-byes we are off to sleep. Bev needs to get acclimated to the new time zone. She starts riding on Sunday. The rest of us are ready to go and despite the lousy day we are still having a great time!
Tomorrow is a lay over day and it's supposed to rain so no golf. We're going to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
Good night for now. Donna and the 3 other WOWs.
